Nothing is better than transporting into a realm with a good love story with many secrets. Yes, I am talking about “a romantic mystery novel,” the best genre of all time. But what is the thing that makes them so entertaining for the readers? It is certainly the author!
As an author, I do believe that writing is not that easy, to be honest. Everyone thinks they can write well if they know how to speak or have done some assignments or writing projects. But the real complication arises when you start writing.
However, with time, experience, and countless reading and writing attempts, you will be able to craft and publish many good novels, like Sweet Revenge or Marooned.
But the question is still the same. What makes a novel impactful enough to gather positive reviews? These are the simple aspects that I have learned while writing or reading some of the most incredible pieces.
The Begining Should Be Impactful
“Leaning forward, Gabrielle let her body soar with each thrust of the powerful beast within her. The steed raced on, his pounding hooves sending up a spray the water along the beach.”
Look at this beginning in my novel Sweet Revenge. A writer should know how to grasp the reader’s interest just by shuffling them in words. Whether the book starts with a prologue of the actual plot, the beginning should be impactful enough to justify the whole plot.
The Characters Should Be Interesting
You can’t simply put in any character without thinking about their charisma. The characters need to speak and live the story, and the reader should connect themselves with them to experience the best.
Take a look at Kolya, for example, who is a wise and handsome Black man and the new leader of the transplanted Zulu tribe with a fantastic personality that I have plotted in my novel Marooned.
The Content Should Be Meaningful
A romantic fiction novel is incomplete without a great story and lots of suspense. How could a reader justify or read the whole book if they do not know where they are heading? Therefore, a writer should always think and create meaningful & exciting content with enough suspense and plots to keep the readers glued until they finish the book.
Take a look at Sweet Revenge, an adult romantic saga based on three intriguing characters sharing a bond like no other. Will they learn or manage to withhold their reality and love, or will revenge take over them?
Intense Moments
Good novels have the power to intensify and evolve the emotions of the reader. Readers should live and feel every moment of the story as they turn the pages. Sweet Revenge and Marooned have a captivating storyline with many emotions and intense scenes that will ensure to grasp your senses and heart as you read through the lines.
Might And Magic
Magic, strength, and some fascinating fictional creatures are esssential in a good book. Like Marooned, my novel, which is going to be a part of a screenplay by Kathy Krantz Stewart, also dispenses a good storyline. A reader always expects a novel to be a better adaptation as compared to a movie. It should always have an interesting plot that makes the reader’s imagination run wild. Sprinkle a little spark in your novel and watch every reader fall in love again.
A Justified Ending
Romantic or not, any novel is incomplete without a thoughtful and emotional ending. Usually, a good ending will not only focus on a happy ending but also has some hidden aspects and a mind-bending revelation that will intensify the ending and the reader’s cognitive abilities.
